Powerchairs
Our powerchairs range from indoor compact models intended for in-home mobility moving up to standard type machines that offer basic adjustment and a pavement/town centre capability. We also stock a number of specialist prescription chairs intended for users with more chronic seating or mobility issues where the powerchair is occupied from dawn until dusk. Again you are wise to see what is available before you commit.
Portable powerchairs are light, compact and boot friendly. However most are used indoors due to compact dimensions and low purchase price. They work best on smoother and flatter surfaces and are ideal for sheltered housing. You can dismantle them into manageable pieces to put in your car boot, and most can travel on aircraft subject to approval.
A max speed of 3-4 mph equals a brisk walking pace, and a range of up to 1.5 hours is realistic.

Standard powerchairs can generally cope with the rigours of our local pavements and are more robust than the portable models. They are better suited to the regular user as they offer increased comfort, capacity and practicality. Ideal where specialist seating or powered functions are not needed. Some work well both indoors and outdoors
